Correctional Officer staffing is at an all time low. Having weathered the Covid crisis they are now faced with extreme overtime. That leads to burnout and CO’s leaving the field at high rates. Many County Jails are offering higher raises than Police and Dispatch to stem the flow,but is that enough? These are essential positions with lower pay and higher risk than jobs in the private sector.
