Minnesota is one of the States that taxes the pensions and Social Security of retirees. There are now some bills before the House and Senate that may change that.
HF3902 and SF3538 would exempt the PERA pensions of Police, local Corrections and the MSRS pensions of State Patrol and State Corrections from the State Income Tax..
Bills HF2788 and SF2838 would exempt Social Security from the State Income tax.

It would be nice to see some relief among our fixed income retirees especially in these times of high inflation.
